It´s been a long time since I´ve updated these pages.
It has been in use during the summers until 2011 and also some track days have been visited. So, similar things that are written about on the previous pages as well.
There has been some problems, though... The thrust washer of the crankshaft let go, presumably due to wrong adjustment of the clutch. The crank was replaced with the engine in the car - at the same time, the bearings were noticed to be in very good condition. I think the thanks for this go to the engine oil used - Motul 300V esther-based. Even the lack of oil pressure did not cayse any mayhem, after the metal debris from the crank has been clogged the oil filter.
The gearbox lost its 4th gear when visiting Botniaring at autumn of 2009. It seems that the torque generated by the turbo engine seems to be enough for the stock Ritmo gearbox. The input shaft and corresponding 4th gear on the main shaft were changed. After that, at the LCF track day, time of 1:28,9 was got at Botniaring, despite of a small boost pressure leak. Even if I was driving! ;-)
A support bar was installed between the front strut towers, to make the front-end of the chassis more rigid. Some more support bars will be put between the roll cage and the front end later... In addition, new Yokohama 048 semi-slicks were purchased to replace the old and worn Vredesteins.
A Youtube video from Botniaring track evening, year 2009.After year 2011, the car spent its time in garage partially dismantled and some of the parts sold. Fiat 127 meeting to be held in Kalajoki on summer 2016 woke the project up but the car did not finish until it... However, on June of 2017 it was finally taken into inspection - after 7 years of sitting. Kalajoki meeting was also visited on that summer!
Test start on August 2016 (YouTube).I think driving was the plan for the summer 2017...as well it has been for a couple of the next ones.
