When the suspension became ready the car started to look better, too. The car with its new appearance is shown in pictures 29a and 29b. The struts were adjusted in their upper position at the time of photographing. The rear suspension still needs to be lowered a couple of centimeters. The adjustable shocks seem to work nicely!
The brake parts were fitted in the car. It is not wise to save money here since the Fiat parts are very cheap. Only new items are good enough!
Appearance of the interior was improved using aluminum laths on the doors and under the gear control lever. At the first phase, seats of Ritmo are used but they will be changed to race items later. The seats needed some minor modifications to fit in the car and they are perhaps a little bit too wide. The new seats are more comfortable than the original ones.
The cabin looked much more attractive with the new seats and a new aluminum gear lever knob. :-) The interior is shown in pictures 33a and 33b. The push-button of electrical trunk opener is also visible under the dashboard near the choke knob. The opener was made from a starter relay of a Toyota Corolla.
The wastegate of the turbo system was constructed from an exhaust valve of Fiat TC and Volvo valve guide. The actuator was created by re-using old mechanical fuel pump. The boost pressure is set with an adjustable base plate under the spring.
As the 1500cc engine was not ready, the 1100 was equipped with a copper head gasket to improve its durability. For this purpose, the head was removed again.
