Sourcing and modifications
I managed to find a suitable rear end for modifying it into a reduction gear of my engine dyno. It is Chevy 10-bolt 8,5" item that seems to have a suitable ratio of around 2,7. When the maximum RPM rating for the retarders is 4000, the engine can run at 11000 RPM maximum, which is enough for the most of the applications. I think there will be no problem with durability as well, because of the nature of the eddy-current brakes - they apply the load very softly.

The rear end seemed to be in good condition so the next task was to grind all rust away, apply some acid and then a new paint.
